Climate-Smart Agriculture in Africa

Our Commitment to African Farmers

We are committed to helping African farmers improve productivity, resilience and sustainability through accessible technology, practical knowledge and reliable farm information.

Smart Farming in Africa

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) describes Climate-Smart Agriculture through three linked pillars: sustainably increasing agricultural productivity and incomes; adapting to climate change and building resilience; and, where possible, reducing or removing greenhouse gas emissions.

Farm sensors can provide timely readings about soil moisture, temperature, rainfall and other conditions. Farmers can combine this information with local knowledge to make more efficient choices about water use, fertiliser and crop protection, and the timing of planting and harvesting.

By connecting farm observations and making them easier to understand, ThingsCommute aims to support informed decisions about crops, livestock, water and environmental conditions.
